Hinikayat ni Environment Secretary Antonia Loyzaga ang mga business leader sa bansa na makipagtulungan sa pamahalaan para sa pagtugon sa lumalalang climate crisis at sa pagbuo ng sustainable communities.
Ginawa ng kalihim ang apela sa pagdalo nito sa general membership meeting ng Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) sa Taguig City noong June 14.
Ayon sa kalihim, mahalaga ang pakikiisa ng lahat sa pagsusulong ng climate action.
“Our government needs partners who go beyond ESG (environmental, social and governance) and the fencelines of their operations to ensure ecosystem integrity and the resilience of communities that surround their operations,” pahayag ni Sec. Loyzaga
Dagdag pa nito, sa ilalim ng administrasyong Marcos, itinutulak ang green at blue economy gayundin ang pagbuo ng sustainable communities.
“Our work covers the air we breathe, all life on land and below water, and all our natural resources. In sum, our priorities are to protect, conserve, restore and regenerate the ecosystems that serve as the life support for all human, social and economic development,”

MAP members na makilahok sa kampanya ng pamahalaan kontra plastic pollution sa pamamagitan ng pagtalima sa Republic Act 11898, o ang Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) of 2022.
