2 kolehiyo sa Pilipinas, nakipag-partner sa isang technical institute sa Canada para makapag-recruit ng mas maraming Pilipino sa domestic at int’l aviation industry

Inaasahan ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) na mas dadami na ang mga Pilipinong sasabak sa aircraft at aviation industry sa bansa.

Kasunod ito ng nilagdaang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ng Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA) at World Citi Colleges (WCC) sa British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) sa Canada para sa isang joint program na magtataguyod ng filipino manpower sa domestic at international aviation industry.

Pinangunahan ni PhilSCA President Marwin Dela Cruz, WCC President Patrick Guico, at BCIT President Paul McCollough ang paglulunsad ng programa na sinaksihan ni CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera at DFA Consul General in Vancouver Arlene Magno sa Victoria, BC, Canada.

Ayon sa CHED, resulta ito ng inisyatibong “Twinning and Training Program for a ladderized Diploma Program in Aircraft Maintenance Technology” na magtutulak sa isang Bachelor’s Degree in Aircraft Technology sa pagitan ng tatlong HEIs.

Tugon na rin ito sa panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na pagtuunan ng educational institutions ang Science, Technology, Engineering at Mathematics programs.

“This MOA signing is timely as we celebrate the first year of the Marcos administration and a response to his call to produce world-class graduates that can practice their profession all over the world,” pahayag ni De Vera.

Sa ilalim ng programa, magkakaroon din ng pagkakataon ang PhilSCA at WCC na makapag-recruit ng mga estudyante mula sa Pilipinas para sa AME Diploma Program ng BICT kung saan maaari nitong kumpletuhin ang programa sa Pilipinas at Canada.

Ang mga magsisipagtapos sa programa ay magkakaroon ng Philippine at Canadian credentials na magpapalawak ng kanilang oportunidad sa airline industry. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
