5,000 plastic license cards, ilalabas ng LTO bago ang SONA ni PBBM

Posibleng makapag-isyu na muli ang Land Transportation Office ng mga plastic license card bago ang State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Ayon kay LTO OIC Asec. Hector Villacorta, may commitment na ang kanilang supplier, Banner Plasticard Inc. na makapag-deliver ng inisyal na 5,000 license cards sa LTO bago matapos ang linggong ito.

Hinihintay nalang aniya na dumating ang mga hologram na kasama sa feature ng lisensya.

Kasama naman sa unang batch na makakatanggap ng plastic cards ang mga OFW at mga bagong driver’s license applicants.

Kasunod nito, sinabi ni Asec. Villacorta na oras na magsimula na ang full production ng lisensya sa susunod na linggo, maglalaro sa 15,000 – 30,000 na plastic cards ang maaaring maimprenta kada araw hanggang sa umabot sa 1 milyong license cards sa loob ng 60 araw.

“Just maybe 5,000 copies. The paper will surely out of date because the production of license cards will start with 15,000 to 30,000 plastic cards a day within 10 days and the promise is within 60 days, they can make 1 million plastic cards so the issue of lack of supply for plastic cards will be history,” Asec. Villacorta

Samantala, bukod naman sa plastic cards ay maaari na ring ma-access ngayon ng publiko ang kanilang electronic drivers license sa LTMS portal na kikilalanin na rin ng mga enforcer matapos ang IRR publication.

“Napaaga ‘yung launch because the IRR takes 15 days to take effect. But we just want to assure the public that things are getting back to normal and we have an additional form that is available, the virtual ID,” Asec. Villacorta | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
