Davao solon, muling humirit para sa pagbabalik ng death penalty

Muling nanawagan si Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte na maibalik ang death penalty sa bansa.

Ang panawagan ng kinatawan ay bunsod na rin ng dumaraming kaso ng gun violence at rape-slay, isa na rito ang pinatay na architect sa Davao City.

Noong nakaraang taon pa inihain ni Duterte at ilan pang mambabatas ang House Bill 501 para sa pagbabalik ng parusang kamatayan sa heinous crimes gaya ng murder at rape.

Naniniwala si Duterte na ang pagbabalik sa capital punishment ay makatutulong para matakot ang mga kriminal na gumawa pa ng kasalanan.

“While it can be argued that one’s death will never be commensurate to his/her crimes, the fear of death as punishment serves as deterrence, hindering potential criminals to commit such [heinous] crime[s].
