Itinalaga na ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Lieutenant General Romeo Brawner, bilang susunod na Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Ito ang kinumpirma ni Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil, ngayong hapon (July 19).

Si LtGen Brawner ang kasalukuyang Commanding General ng Philippine Army.

“He exemplified the highest levels of excellence in his military schoolings, topping his classes in the Special Forces Operations Course, Intelligence Officer Course, and the AFP Comptrollership Course.” —Secretary Garafil.

Dati na ring nagsilbi bilang Company Commander ng 6th Special Forces Company; at Commander ng 4th Infantry Division.

Papalitan ni Brawner ang pwesto ni General Andres Centino, na ni-reappoint ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ngayong taon.

Si Gen. Centino, mauupo naman bilang Presidential Adviser on the West Philippine Sea (WPS). | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
