Inatasan na ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang kanilang MIMAROPA (Mindoro Oriental & Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) Field Office na asikasuhin ang mga residenteng inilikas sa ilang bayan sa Occidental Mindoro dahil sa mga pag-ulang dulot ng habagat at bagyong Egay.
Pinatitiyak ng kalihim kay MIMAROPA Regional Director Leonardo Reynoso na mabibigyan ng sapat na suplay ng family food packs (FFPs) at non-food items ang mga inilikas na residente mula sa mga apektadong lugar.
Sa ulat ng DSWD-MIMAROPA, nasa 335 pamilya o katumbas ng 1,050 indibidwal ang pansamantalang nananatili sa 15 evacuation centers sa mga bayan ng Sablayan, San Jose, Rizal, at Calintaan sa Occidental Mindoro.
Sa ngayon ay sapat pa naman ang stockpile ng DSWD Mimaropa na may lamang 10,000 FFPs.
Kaugnay nito ay nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ang
MIMAROPA Field Office sa Provincial Social Work and Development Office (PSWDO) at Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) para sa pagpapakain sa mga evacuee.
“Our arrangement with the PSWDO and PDRRMO of Occidental Mindoro is that for breakfast today (July 27), the provincial government will take care of the cooked food and hot meals to be distributed to the evacuees while the DSWD family food packs will be distributed this morning to the affected families,” pahayag ni Director Reynoso. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
