Pagdating ng mga dayuhang turista sa bansa, inaasahang tataas pa ayon sa Bureau of Immigration

Kumpiyansa ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) na tataas pa ng hanggang 20 porsiyento ang pagdating ng mga dayuhang turista sa bansa sa susunod na anim na buwan.

Ito ay makaraang ilunsad ng pamahalaan ang e-services nito na pagpapalawig sa visa ng mga turistang tutungo sa bansa.

Ayon kay Immigration Tourist Visa Section Chief Raymond Remigio, nakapagtala sila ng nasa 91,000 tourist visa extension sa unang bahagi ng taong kasalukuyan.

Mas mataas ito kumpara sa naitala nilang tourist visa extension mula Hulyo hanggang Disyembre ng nakalipas na taon na nasa 77,000.

Sa kanyang panig, sinabi naman ni Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, na suportado nila ang mga hakbang ng Department of Tourism (DOT), na hikayatin pa ang mga turista na manatili ng matagal sa bansa.

Naniniwala rin si Tansingco, na sa pamamagitan ng pinalawig na pag-iral ng visa ng mga dayuhang turista ay makatutulong na mabawasan ang kaso ng overstaying sa bansa. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
