Sisikapin ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso na sabay na mapagtibay ang 2024 proposed national budget at nalalabing LEDAC priority bills bago matapos ang taon.
Ayon kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez, sa nalalabing buwan ng 2023 ay ibubuhos ng Kamara ang atensyon sa pagbusisi sa panukalang P5.768 trillion 2024 National Expenditure Program gayundin ang natitirang priority measures na napagkasunduan sa ikalawang pulong ng Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC)
“Mas lalong magtatrabaho ang inyong Kamara de Representantes sa pagbubukas ng 2nd Regular Session nitong kasalukuyang buwan na ating sisimulan sa SONA ng ating Pangulong Marcos. With our firm commitment to approve the remaining priority measures agreed upon during the LEDAC meetings, various House panels will continue working during committee deliberations of the proposed 2024 NEP,” saad ng House leader
Aminado ang House Speaker na kailangan ilang magdoble kayod sa paghimay ng pambansang pondo at sasabayan ito ng pagtalakay sa pet bills ng administrasyon.
Tiwala naman si Romualdez na tulad ng magandang performance ng Kamara noong 1st regular session ay matutumbasan nila ito sa pagbubukas ng 2nd regular session.
“If members of the House of Representatives will work with the same passion and vigor they exhibited during the First Regular Session, I have no doubt that we can do better this time around,” paglalahad ni Romualdez
Bukas naman ani Romualdez ang Kamara para mapagbuti pa ang kanilang sistema at proseso upang makapagpasa ng mga panukala at resolusyon gaya noong 1st regular session habang ginagampanan din ang kanilang oversight function.
“Processes and systems can always be improved. I believe there are still better ways we can perform our mandate of legislation without sacrificing the quality of our work,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
