Pagpapatupad ng Philippine e-visa system, welcome sa DOT

Ikinalugod ng Department of Tourism ang nakatakdang pagpapatupad ng electronic visa (e-visa) system para sa temporary visitors kung saan isasagawa ang pilot implementation nito sa Chinese nationals simula Agosto 24.

Nagpasalamat si Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco na sa wakas ay maipapatupad na ang Philippine e-Visa system na magpapabuti sa experience ng inbound travelers at tourists, at magkakaroon ng positibong epekto sa international arrivals.

Naniniwala rin ang kalihim na mapapaunlad pa nito ang people-to-people exchange, cultural understanding, at ang masiglang tourism cooperation.

Noong 2019, naitala ng DOT na aabot sa higit 1.7 milyong Chinese visitors ang bumisita sa bansa. Batay naman sa kanilang huling tala noong July 26, aabot sa 137,882 na arrivals mula China ang naitala ng DOT, kasunod ng pagluluwag ng travel restriction ng China para sa Chinese nationals. | ulat ni Gab Humilde Villegas
