Pagtatayo ng rainwater harvesting facilities, nakikitang pangmatagalang solusyon sa kakapusan ng tubig na dulot ng El Niño

Binigyang diin ni Senador Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. na posibleng pangmatagalang solusyon at malaki ang maitutulong ng pagtatayo ng mga rainwater harvesting facility sa pagtindi ng epekto ng El Niño sa bansa.

Una nang naghain si Revilla ng panukala kaugnay nito, o ang Senate Bill 990 noong Agosto 2022.

Ayon sa senador, kailangan nang pagtuunan ng pansin ang paggamit ng rainwater harvesting technology sa lahat ng bagong institutional, commercial, industrial at residential development project sa Metro Manila.

Ito ay nang sa gayon aniya ay hindi na paulit-ulit na naghahanap ng solusyon kapag bumabagsak ang lebel ng tubig sa Angat dam at iba pang dams na pinagkukunan ng suplay ng tubig sa bansa.

Sa panukala ng mambabatas, lahat ng project owners o developers na ang building blueprint area ay higit sa 100 square meters ay kailangan maglagay ng nasabing pasilidad na pwedeng magamit sa urban irrigation, ground water recharge, firefighting, construction at iba pang non-potable na paggamit tulad ng paglilinis ng sasakyan, pambuhos sa banyo at iba pa.

Ang project owners o developers naman na may mahigit sa 1,000 square meters ang land area ay kailangang magsumite ng Rainwater Management Plan (RMP), bilang bahagi ng site development application at approval process. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
