Pagtitipid ng tubig sa harap ng banta ng El Niño dry spell, panawagan na rin ng Ecowaste

Nakikiisa na rin ang zero waste advocacy group na EcoWaste Coalition sa panawagan ng pamahalaan na magtipid at maging responsable sa pagkonsumo ng tubig sa harap ng banta ng El Niño.

Ginawa ng grupo ang apela kasunod ng inilabas na water conservation guidelines ng
Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Water Resources Management Office (DENR-WRMO).

Ayon kay Aileen Lucero, national coordinator ng EcoWaste Coalition, kailangang magtulungan ang publiko tungo sa zero water waste.

“As we remind duty-bearers to uphold the people’s right to water, we join the government in urging water consumers to conserve water in all ways possible as the whole country braces for the impacts of El Niño on the water supply, agriculture, economy and the lives of the poor,” pahayag ni Lucero.

Giit nito, dapat mabigyang proteksyon ang karapatan ng bawat isa na magkaroon ng sapat na tubig kahit sa panahon ng El Niño.

Kasunod nito, naglabas ang EcoWaste ng ilang paalala para matulungan ang publiko sa pagtitipid ng tubig.

Kabilang dito ang pagkukumpuni sa lahat ng mga sira at tumatagas na tubo, pagkolekta sa tubig-ulan, iklian ang oras ng ligo, i-recycle ang pinagbanlawan ng damit para magamit na panlinis o pandilig ng halaman, at gumamit ng mas kaunting utensils para bawas hugasin. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
