Panukalang isailalim sa Office of the President ang PhilHealth, walang legal obstruction — DOJ

Walang nakikita na legal obstruction ang Department of Justice (DOJ) kung ililipat sa Tanggapan ng Pangulo ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation o PhilHealth.

Ito ang nilalaman ng legal opinion ng DOJ matapos hingiin ng Technical Working Group na siyang nangunguna para sa pag-aaral kung dapat bang ilipat ang PhilHealth sa Office of the President.

Ayon kay Justice Undersecretary Raul Vasquez, may kapangyarihan ang Pangulo na isailalim sa kanyang hurisdiksyon ang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan kung sa inaakala nito nay kailangan ng mas mabilis na Executive action.

Una nang hiningi ng Department of Health (DOH)at PhilHealth ang legal opinion ng DOJ para matiyak na walang magiging balakid sa panukalang isailalim ang State Health Insurance sa Office of the President.

Sinabi ni Vasquez, kahit mayroong Congressional Oversight Committee ang PhilHealth, hindi naman daw nito masasaklawan ng Pangulo.
