Psoriasis, pinasasama sa coverage ng Universal Health Care Law

Umaasa ang isang party-list solon na uusad ang inihaing Psoriasis Bill upang maisama ang psoriasis sa sakop ng Universal Health Care Law.

Ito’y kasunod ng pagdalo ni ANAKALUSUGAN Party-list Representative Ray Reyes sa katatapos lamang na International Federation of Psoriasis Associations (IFPA) Forum sa Singapore.

Aniya, naka-antabay at nakatingin ngayon ang ibang mga bansa sa Pilipinas kaugnay sa pagsasama ng mga pasyenteng may psoriasis sa libreng primary health care services.

Paalala ng mambabatas na ang naturang autoimmune disease ay panghabang buhay na sakit na wala pang lunas o gamot at nakaka-apekto sa pamumuhay ng maraming mga Pilipino.

Kabilang na rito ang social stigma na nakaka-apekto sa kanilang pakikisalamuha sa iba.

“The world looks to follow the Philippines’ template on, and its progress in, ongoing legislative efforts towards the inclusion of psoriasis in free primary health care as interest from other countries gains ground… Government must address this with urgency. It must be covered by PhilHealth so that people living with psoriasis can go back to productivity,” saad ni Reyes.

Ayon sa datos ng Psoriasis Philippines, 1% hanggang 2% ng kabuuang populasyon ng bansa ang may psoriasis.
