Mabilis na tinapos ng House Committee on Appropriations ang budget briefing ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Ito ay bilang pakikiisa sa pagdadalamhati ng kagawaran sa pagpanaw ni DMW Secretary Susan Ople.
Sa simula ng Budget briefing ay nag-alay ng sandaling katahimikan ang komite para ipagdasal ang yumaong kalihim.
Emosyonal naman na humarap si DMW Undersecretary for Finance and Internal Management Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones para sa kanilang budget presentation.
Naluluha itong nagpasalamat sa pakikiramay ng Kamara sa DMW family kasabay ng pangako na ipagpapatuloy ang mga nasimulang polisiya at programa ng yumaong kalihim

Agad namang nagmosyon si Appropriations Vice-Chair Janette Garin na huwag nang mag-present ng budget overview ang DMW bilang kurtesiya at sa halip ay hiningan na lang ng manipestasyon ang ilan sa mga mambabatas.
Si House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan naman ang nagtulak para tuluyan nang i-terminate ang pagtalakay sa panukalang ₱15.542-billion na pondo ng ahensya sa susunod na taon. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
