Hinimok ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang publiko na huwag mangiming ireport sa Makabata Hotline 1383 ang anumang kaso ng child abuse.
Ang Makabata Hotline ay isang mekanismong binuo ng Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), attached agency ng DSWD, para maghatid ng agarang tugon, magmonitor, at magbigay ng feedback via calls, electronic mail, at iba pang social media platforms patungkol sa lahat ng child rights at concerns.
Kabilang dito ang legal queries, psychosocial support, referral services at maging reporting ng child abuse at emergency cases.
Sa pinakahuling datos ng CWC, aabot na sa 156 reports ang natanggap ng Makabata Hotline kung saan 76.28% ang case closed na, 19.23% ang pending habang 4.48% ang on-going.
“The CWC is consistently seeking out partnerships with non-government organizations and national government agencies to strengthen the implementation of the Makabata Hotline 1383 because we believe that this mechanism will truly help us to protect and uphold the rights of children,” DSWD Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Romel Lopez.
Kaugnay nito, pinaalalahanan naman si Asec. Lopez ang publiko na huwag gamitin ang hotline para sa prank calls.
