Kontrata ng BSP sa service provider, nirerepaso para mapabilis ang pag-imprenta ng National ID

Inaaral ngayon ng legal team ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang posibleng pagbabago sa kontrata nito sa kanilang service provider na nag-iimprenta ng National ID.

Ito’y matapos matanong sa deliberasyon ng 2024 budget ang estado ng National ID Program.

Ayon kay Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Chief Dennis Mapa, sa target na 92 million National ID, mayroon nang 75.4 million physical at digital ID.

Sa bilang na ito 36 million umano ang physical National ID card na natapos ng service provider ng BSP.

Paliwanag naman ni BSP Senior Assistant Governor Iluminada Sicat, mula sa dapat sanang 126,000 cards kada araw ay bumaba na lang sa 80,000 ang naiimprenta.

Bunsod na rin ito ng operational challenges at design changes.

Nilinaw naman ni Mapa na kaya nagkaroon ng pagbabago sa disensyo ay dahil sa dagdag na datos at pinalaking QR code.

“For example the information in the QR code, there were additional information so the QR code became bigger and it would take some time to print it. The original target of the BSP based on the discussion with PSA in 2020 is about 126,000 cards per day, so we made adjustment in the QR code and it slowed down at 80,000 per day,” ani Mapa.

Nakipag-ugnayan naman na aniya ang PSA sa BSP upang hilingin sa service provider nito na dagdagan ang printing lines upang mas mabilis na matapos ang pag-imprenta.
