Pinakokonsidera ni Deputy Speaker at Batangas Representative Ralph Recto ang napaulat na plano ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na pagmultahin ang mga may-ari ng mga sasakyang hindi pa kinukuha ang plaka mula sa ahensya.
Aniya, mas dapat magbigay konsiderasyon ang ahensya sa mga may-ari ng sasakyan dahil sila mismo ay matagal nang naghintay para ma-isyu ang naturang mga plaka.
“Kay tagal hinintay ng mga motorista ang matagal nang bayad at pinakaaasam na mga plaka. Kaya konsiderasyon ang dapat isukli at hindi ang pananakot na kung hindi agad makuha, may parusa na dagdag singil na naghihintay,” ani Recto.
Kasabay nito dapat din aniyang mas magdoble kayod ang LTO para tugunan ang napakalaki pa ring backlog sa produksyon at paglalabas ng mga car plates.
“LTO should reciprocate this forbearance with kindness and consideration, not with punishment, and, above all, with expeditious production and release of the car plates,” dagdag ni Recto.
Pero paglilinaw ng LTO, ang 60-day deadline at pagpapataw ng multa ay hindi para sa car owners.
Ang direktiba umano ay para sa kanilang Regional Directors, District Chiefs, Offices at Extension Offices para gawing mabilis ang paglalabas ng plaka.
Gayundin ay para sa mga car at motorcycle dealers na hindi pa ipinamamahagi ang mga plaka.
“In order to set the record straight, the 60-day deadline to get the unclaimed license plates is not for the motor vehicle owners. It is actually a directive to all our Regional Directors, District Chiefs, Offices and Extension Offices to find the best ways to properly and efficiently distribute the unclaimed license plates within 60 days,” ayon kay LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II.
