Mga katutubong apektado isang proyekto ng NIA na hindi natapos, humarap sa pagdinig ng Senado

Dumalo sa pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang grupo ng mga katutubo na kabilang sa mga apektado ng hindi natapos an proyekto ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA).

Sa pagdinig ng Blue Ribbon, binahagi ni Commitee Chairman Sen. Francis Tolentino na ang Balog-Balog Multipurpose Irrigation project ay ilang dekada nang ginagawa at napondohan na ng nasa P13.37-Billion.

Sa kabila nito ay hanggang ngayon ay 20 percent pa lang ng proyekto ang natatapos.

Sa salaysay ni San Jose, Maamot Barangay Captain Reynaldo Laurzano ng Tribong Abiling, noong una ay maayos naman aniya ang usapan ng NIA sa kanilang mga katutubo.

Napagkasunduan rin aniya na babayaran sila ng NIA at ililipat ng tirahan para bigyang daan ang pagpapatayo ng dam.

Pero biglaan aniya ang ginawang resettlement sa kanila kaya nawalan sila ng hanapbuhay at hindi rin naman sila nabayaran ng NIA.

Sinabi naman ni NIA administrator Eduardo Guillen na rerebyuhin niya ang kasunduan sa mga katutubo at nangakong tutuparin ng ahensya ang mga ito.| ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
