Pagdideklara ng fishing ban ng China sa West Philippine Sea, ‘di kinikilala ng DFA

Naninindigan ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na hindi kailanman kikilalanin ng Pilipinas sakaling magpatupad ng fishing ban ang China, sa pinagtatalunang West Philippine Sea.

Ito ay kasunod ng taunang fishing ban na ipinatutupad ng China sa South China Sea kung saan, maging ang mga mangingisdang Pinoy ay nadadamay dahil pinagbabawalan din umano sila na mangisda sa Exclusive Economic Zone o EEZ ng bansa.

Ayon kay DFA Spokesperson, Ambassador Teresita Daza, bahagi aniya ito ng mga inihahaing diplomatic protest ng Pilipinas at patuloy aniya nitong igigiit ang kanilang pagtutol sakaling ipatupad ito ng China.

Binigyang diin pa ni Daza, ang planong pagpapatupad ng fishing ban ng China ay iligal lalo’t lumalagpas na rin ito maging sa mga karagatang sakop ng Pilipinas.

Dahil dito, pinagsabihan ng DFA ang China na huwag nang ituloy ang kanilang plano dahil handa ang Pilipinas na ipatupad ang mga batas na magtataguyod sa karapatan ng mga Pilipino na mangisda sa sarili nitong karagatan. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
