Pamamahagi ng donasyong bigas mula sa Japan para sa Mayon evacuees, sisimulan na -DA

Sisimulan na ang pamamahagi ng bigas sa may 10,000 pamilyang apektado ng pag-alburoto ng bulkang Mayon sa Albay.

Ito’y matapos na pormal na iturn-over sa Department of Agriculture (DA) ang 300 metric tons ng bigas na donasyon ng Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries ng Japan sa ilalim ng ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Tier 3 Program.

Prayoridad na mabigyan ng tig-30 kilo ng sako ng bigas ang mga pamilyang benepisyaryo sa Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Tabaco City, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, at Ligao City.

Mula sa 10,000 benepisyaryo, hindi bababa sa 1,441 ang mabibigyan ng tulong na bigas sa pamamagitan ng Food for Work Program ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa mga apektadong lugar.

Ang APTERR program ay isang panrehiyong pamamaraan ng kooperasyon sa pagitan ng sampung bansang kasapi ng ASEAN kasama ang tatlong bansa na kinabibilangan ng China, Japan, at Republika ng Korea.

Nagpasalamat naman ang DA sa pamahalaan ng Japan at sa APTERR Secretariat sa bigay na tulong para sa mga Mayon evacuees. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
