Nais ni Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte na maaprubahan ngayong 2nd Regular Session ng Kongreso ang kaniyang panukalang magbabawas sa buwis na ipinapataw sa produktong petrolyo.
Ito aniya ay upang mapababa ang singil sa kuryente at gasolina na iniinda ngayon ng mga Pilipino.
Hunyo pa noong nakaraang taon nang ihain ni Villafuerte ang House Bill 8231 na mag-aamyenda sa National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC).
Dito babawasan ng hanggang 50% ang Excise Tax na ipinapataw sa coal at petroleum products.
Sususpendihin din muna ang pagpapataw ng iba pang applicable duties sa naturang mga produkto.
Gagawin ding exempted sa VAT ang System Loss Charge na isa sa sinisingil sa mga kustomer ng kuryente.
Ang naturang tax cut ay ipatutupad sa loob ng tatlong taon.
“This proposed measure seeks to reduce the Excise Tax on petroleum products and coal by 50%, suspend the imposition of applicable duties on their importation, and exempt the System Loss Charge in the sale of electricity from the Value-Added Tax (VAT), for a period of three years,” ani Villafuerte. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
