Pilipinas at Japan, lumagda sa ¥30-B post-disaster standby loan

Lumagda ng kasunduan ang Pilipinas at Japan para sa Post Disaster Stand-by Loan (PDSL) Phase 3 na suporta sa budgetary requirement para sa post-disaster response and recovery.

Layon din ng loan agreement na palakasin ang disaster preparedness sa pamamagitan ng quick-disbursing budget support.

Ang loan agreement ay nilagdaan nila Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno at JICA Senior Vice President Nakazawa Kelichirio, sa side lines ng 14th Philippines -Japan High-Level Joint Committee Meeting.

Ang kasunduan ay nagkakahalaga ng ¥30-billion (Japanese) o P11.79 billion, para sa agarang pagbangon matapos ang natural disasters sa pamamagitan ng pag-promote ng policy actions ng Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Sa ilalim ng concessional terms, ang loan repayment ay nakatakda ng 30 taon pagkatapos ng palugit na 10 taon, na may rate interes na 0.01 porsiyento kada taon.

Ang Japan ay ang largest Official Development Assistance (ODA) provider ng loan at grant commitments, na nagkakahalaga ng US$12.92 billion o tinatayang 40.5 percent ng total ODA portfolio ng bansa. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
