Hindi hahayaan ng pamahalaan na mawalan ng teritoryo ang bansa ayon sa National Security Council.

Sa joint press briefing ng National Task Force on West Philippine Sea, nanawagan si National Security Council Assistant Director Jonathan Malaya sa bansang China na itigil na ang mga coercive, unlawful, at mga hindi katanggap-tanggap na aktibidad nito sa West Philippine Sea.

Sinabi rin ni Malaya na hindi hahayaan ng bansa na mawalan ng kahit isang pulgada ang teritoryo ng Pilipinas.

Iginiit rin ni Malaya na ang 2016 arbitral ruling ay nagpapatunay na mayroong exclusive rights ang Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea.

Sinusugan naman ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang pahayag ng National Security Council kung saan sinabi ni DFA Spokesperson Teresita Daza na hindi mae-eexercise ng China ang soberanya nito sa mga Ayungin Shoal dulot ng 2016 aribitral ruling na naipanalo ng Pilipinas.

Ang nasabing pahayag ay nangyari matapos bomabahan ng water cannon nitong August 5 ang barko ng Philippine Coast Guard at military supply ship ng Pilipinas na dapat sana ay patungong Ayungin Shoal para sa isang resupplying mission. | ulat ni Gab Villegas
