Paga-adjust ng diet ang nakikitang solusyon ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa harap na rin ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng bigas na ngayo’y nasa P50 na kada kilo.

Ayon kay Trade Sec. Alfredo Pascual, marami namang puwedeng gamiting alternatibo sa bigas tulad ng kamote at puting mais.

Maaari rin aniyang paghaluin ang mais at bigas upang mapababa ang gastos dahil mas mura ang presyo ng mais kumpara sa bigas.

Kung hindi naman maiwasan, sinabi ni Pascual na dapat “in moderation” lamang ang pagkonsumo ng kanin upang maiwasan ang pagkakasayang nito.
