Resupply mission sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal, matagumpay na naisagawa ngayong araw

Matagumpay na naisagawa ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine Coast Guard ang Rotation and Resupply (RoRe) mission sa BRP Sierra Madre.

Ito ang kinumpirma ng National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS) sa isang statement, matapos na makapaghatid ng mga supply sa BRP Sierra Madre ang Philippine supply ships Unaizah May 1 at Unaizah May 2 ngayong araw.

Ito ay sa kabila ng pagtatangka ng China Coast Guard (CCG) at Chinese Maritime Militia (CMM) vessels na harangan, i-harass, at guluhin ang resupply operation.

Ayon sa NTF-WPS ang dalawang supply vessel ay in-escort ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessels BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) at BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407); habang naka-stand-by ang mga barko ng Philippine Navy.

Binigyang diin ng NTF-WPS na magpapatuloy ang regular na RoRe missions sa BRP Sierra Madre, na bahagi ng lehitimong pag-exercise ng pamahalaan ng administrative functions sa WPS, alinsunod sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), 2016 Arbitral Award, at lokal na batas.
