Matatandaang nitong August 5, binomba ng tubig ng Chinese Cosat Guard ang Philippine Coast Guard at civilian vessel na nagdadala ng suplay sa mga sundalong nakadestino sa BRP Sierra Madre.
“The President made the right decision to get the consensus of officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines on how best the government can address the latest incident in the West Philippine Sea,” saad ni Romualdez.
Suportado rin ng House leader ang diplomatikong tugon ng pamahalaan sa insidente.
Batay sa pahayag ng DFA, umabot na sa 30 diplomatic protest ang ipinadala ng bansa sa China ngayong taon.
Para kay Romualdez, kapuri-puri ang pagtindig ni PBBM sa soberanya ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea.
