Clean Air Act, panahon nang i-update ayon sa Laguna solon

Itinutulak ngayon ni Laguna Representative Marlyn Alonte na repasuhin ang Clean Air Act.

Bunsod na rin ito ng naganap na volcanic smog o vog dahil sa pag-aalburoto ng Bulkang Taal kamakailan gayundin ang smog o haze sa Kamaynilaan dahil naman sa usok mula sa mga sasakyan.

Sa kaniyang House Resolution 1324, inaatasan ang Committee on Ecology na magdaos ng inquiry at alamin ang mga programa ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), patungkol sa Clean Air Act at ano ang mga panuntunan na dapat nang baguhin.

Punto ng mambabatas, 1999 pa naisabatas ang Clean Air Act.

Ibinatay ito sa inilabas na guidelines noong 1987 ng World Health Organization (WHO).

Ang naturang guidelines ay na-update na ng WHO noong 2021, kaya’t panahon na rin aniya na aralin ang pag-update ng ating batas para maiakma sa kasalukuyang panahon. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
