Higit 140 LGU sa bansa, wala pa ring istasyon ng bumbero

Nasa 143 lokal na pamahalaan sa bansa ang wala pa ring fire station o istasyon ng bumbero.

Ito ang lumabas sa pagtalakay ng panukalang pondo ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at attached agencies nito para sa susunod na taon.

Ayon kay BFP Chief Louie Puracan sa 1,634 bayan at munisipalidad sa bansa, 1,477 lang ang may fire stations at fire trucks.

Nausisa naman ni Surigao del Sur 1st district Representative Romeo Momo Sr. ang P550 million na pondo sa ilalim ng 2024 budget para sa pagpapatayo ng 55 fire stations.

Aniya, paano ang magiging prioritization ng BFP sa kung saan itatayo ang 55 istasyon ng pamatay sunog gayong higit 100 pa ang kulang.

Tugon ni Puracan, depende ito sa magiging request ng LGU.

May mga LGU kasi aniya na hindi pa nag-request na mapatayuan ng fire station dahil sa kawalan ng lupa kung saan ito tatatayo. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
