Ilang senador, magkakataliwas ang opinyon sa apela ng Ombudsman na alisin na ang mandatory publication ng initial audit report ng COA

Magkakaiba ang opinyon ng ilang mga senador sa panawagan ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires na alisin ang probisyon sa general appropriations act (GAA) tungkol sa mandatory publication ng initial report ng Commission on Audit (COA) tungkol sa paggamit ng pondo ng mga government agencies.

Ayon kay Senadora Imee Marcos, mahalagang maikonsidera ang apelang ito ng Ombudsman.

Iginiit ni Marcos na hindi dapat magamit ang mga COA report laban sa isang ahensya ng pamahalaan.

Samantala, hindi naman sang-ayon si Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel sa panawagang ito.

Giit ni Pimentel, dapat panatilihin ang kasalukuyang patakaran ng bansa tungkol sa mandatory na pagsasapubliko ng COA report.

Una na kasing ipinahayag ni Martires na nakapagdudulot lang ng kalituhan ang publication ng audit report ng COA dahil nagkakaroon ng pang-unawa na kapag may inilabas na report sa isang government agency ay may anomalya agad sa ahensya kahit kulang lang pala ng naisumiteng dokumento ang ahensya. | ulat ni Nimfa Mae Asuncion
