Umaasa si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na magpapatuloy ang National Food Authority (NFA) sa pagtupad ng mandato nito na panatilihin ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na buffer stock ng bansa sa bigas, mula sa mga Pilipinong magsasaka.
Pahayag ito ng pangulo kasabay ng ika-51 anibersaryo ng NFA.
Sabi ng pangulo kahit pa sa kabila ng mga hamong kinahaharap ng agriclture sector ng bansa, lalo na nitong mga nakalipas na buwan, napanatili ng NFA ang buffer stock ng bigas at palay, lalo na sa panahon ng emergency.
“For over five decades, you have been faithfully serving our nation by assuring the stability, affordability, and safety of our staple food supplies.” —Pangulong Marcos.
Ang pamahalaan aniya, nagpapatupad ng mga agresibong hakbang upang tugunan ang mga usapin sa presyo ng basic commodities, lalo na ng bigas, tungo sa pagkakaroon ng food security ng Pilipinas.
Halimbawa ang paghabol sa hoarders at smugglers ng bigas.
“The government is also undertaking aggressive steps to mitigate matters pertaining to the price stability of basic commodities, especially rice, by strengthening our law-enforcement activities against smugglers, hoarders, and those who undermine our efforts to ensure food security.” —Pangulong Marcos.
Umaasa rin ang pangulo na maging matagumpay ang Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines (SARAI) Project ng NFA.
Sa pamamagitan kasi aniya nito, mapalalakas ang effort ng pamahalaan, na mag-provide ng smart at sustainable solution, para sa mas produktibo at proactive farming sa bansa.
Habang positibo rin si Pangulong Marcos sa magandang impact ng NFA Modernization program.
