Binigyang diin ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng confidential fund sa paggampan sa kanilang mandato laban sa scammers.
Sa press briefing sa Malacañang, nilinaw ni DICT Secretary John Ivan Uy na noong nakaraang administrasyon, mayroon naman talagang confidential fund ang kanilang tanggapan.
“Well, actually during the previuos administration, mayroon po… mayroong confidential fund. It’s just last year na wala dahil… last year was the previous administration’s budget ‘no so hindi nila in-include sa request nila iyong confidential fund.” — Secretary Uy.
Ginagamit aniya nila ang pondong ito para sa intel gathering at investigation.
Sinabi ng kalihim, highly technical, well-funded at well-organize ang mga scammer, kaya’t angkop lamang na tapatan ng pamahalaan ang kakayahang ito.
“And we need all the resources possible and all the tools possible in order to go after them. So, the confidential fund is essential in order to conduct intel and investigation in order to go after these criminals.” — Secretary Uy. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
