Pinapurihan ni Quezon City 5th District Representative PM Vargas ang Department of Education (DepEd) at ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa paglalabas ng ₱11.6-billion na halaga ng Performance Based Bonus ng mga guro sa pampublikong elementarya at sekondarya sa buong bansa.
Aniya, marapat lamang ang insentibong ito para sa mga teachers na sa kabila ng mga hamong hinaharap at patuloy na tinutupad ang mandato na maibigay ang kalidad na edukasyon para sa mga mag-aaral.
“All teachers are performers in their profession. Despite the different struggles they face, they manage to keep up with the delivery of education to our students. They deserve all the praise and incentives,” sabi ni Vargas.
Kasabay nito umaasa ang kinatawan na makausad na sa Kamara ang panukalang itaas ang Salary Grade ng entry level public-school teachers.
Sa kaniyang panukala mula Salary Grade 11 na may ₱25,439 na sweldo ay itataas ito sa SG-19 o ₱49,835.
“To truly recognize our noble teachers who shape the minds that shape the nation, we need to ensure that their compensation corresponds with their workload. We hope to have good news regarding their salary upgrade in time with the World Teachers’ Day next month,” dagdag ng mambabatas.
