Kagyat nang dapat kasuhan ng Bureau of Customs ang mga rice smuggler, kasama ang kanilang mga kasabwat sa pagpuslit ng libu-libong sako ng bigas.
Ito ang sinabi ni Speaker Martin Romualdez kasunod ng naging hakbang ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na ipamigay ang mga nasabat na smuggled na bigas sa mga residente ng Zamboanga Peninsula.
“We, in the House of Representatives, firmly stand with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in his initiative to distribute premium quality rice to the 4Ps beneficiaries in Zamboanga City with his instruction to the National Food Authority to increase its buying price for palay,” ani Speaker Romualdez.
Iginiit naman ni Romualdez sa Customs na patuloy na paigtingin ang pagbabantay sa mga pantalan at mga bodega at huwag lang tumigil sa pagkumpiska ng mga smuggled items bagkus ay kasuhan na ang mga sangkot dito.
Hangga’t hindi kasi aniya naparurusahan o nakukulong ang mga nasa likod ng smuggling ay magpapatuloy ang iligal na gawain.
“I congratulate the Bureau of Customs and other concerned agencies for a job well done. But they should not stop at confiscating rice and other products smuggled into the country.
