Hindi nagbabago ang approach ng Pilipinas sa pagdepensa at pagbibigay-diin sa mga islang sakop ng teritoryo ng bansa.
Sa isang ambush interview sa Palawan, sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na kung mayroon mang nagbago, ito ay ang approach ng mga bansang nakapalibot sa bansa.
“Now of course, we’ll continue to defend our territorial sovereignty, our territorial rights. We have not changed our approach; it is other countries around us that have changed their approach.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Kaugnay aniya sa 10-dash line claim ng China, bagamat hindi idinetalhye ng Pangulo, makasisiguro aniya ang publiko na tutugon ang Marcos Administration dito.
“Once again, we have received the news that now the nine-dash line has been extended to the ten-dash line. And we will have to respond to all of these—and we will. But again, these are operational details that I would prefer not to talk about.” —Pangulong Marcos.
Ayon sa Pangulo, dahil sumusunod ang Pilipinas sa international law lalo na sa UNCLOS, pinagtitibay lamang ng bansa ang territorial sovereignty at maritime teritory nito.
