Pinasalamatan ni Presidential Adviser for Peace Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. si House Speaker Martin Romualdez, House Majority leader Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe at Minority leader Rep. Marcelino Libanan sa kanilang “commitment” sa prosesong pangkapayapaan.

Ito’y matapos na aprubahan ng House of Representatives (HOR) ang ₱7 bilyon na “peace investment budget” ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) para sa 2024 sa HOR budget deliberation nitong Martes.

Si Rep. Mercedes Alvarez ng 6th District of Negros Occidental, na vice chairperson on Committee on Appropriations, ang nag-sponsor ng panukalang budget ng OPAPRU.

Ayon kay Galvez, ang “peace investment budget,” ay pampondo sa mga programa at proyekto na mag-aangat ng buhay ng mga nagbalik-loob na dating rebelde at kanilang mga pamilya at komunidad sa buong bansa.

Pinasalamatan din ni Galvez sina Rep. Mujiv S. Hataman ng lone district of Basilan, Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano ng Abang-Lingkod partylist at Rep. Joey Salceda ng 2nd district of Albay sa pagsuporta at pag-apruba sa budget ng OPAPRU, at sa pagsulong ng kapayapaan sa kani-kanilang mga lalawigan. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
