Smuggled na Indian buffalo meat, nasamsam ng Department of Agriculture sa Dasmariñas, Cavite

Aabot sa 1,714 kilos ng imported na Indian buffalo meat ang nasamsam ng Department of Agriculture Inspectorate and Enforcement (DA-IE) at ng National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), sa isinagawang joint anti-smuggling at food inspection sa Kadiwa wet market sa Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

Ayon kay DA-IE Assistant Secretary James Layug, nadiskubre ang dalawang hindi rehistradong cold storage at limang refrigerated vans na naglalaman ng imported Indian buffalo meat na nagkakahalaga ng P445,666.

Pinasisiyasat na ni Layug sa NMIS Region 4-A gamit ang kanilang mga pasilidad ang mga nakumpiskang buffalo meat, upang pagkatapos ito ay agarang sirain.

Ayon kay Layug, ang isinagawang operasyon ay bahagi ng kampanya ng DA laban sa iligal na pangangalakal ng buffalo meat na paglabag sa DA Administrative Circular No. 12 Series of 2015 o ang “Updated Rules and Regulations Governing the Allocation, Importation, and Utilization of Fresh Frozen Buffalo Meat from India”.
