Nananatili sa maayos na kondisyon ang mga Pilipino sa Libya, kasunod ng pananalasa ng malakas na bagyo na nagdulot ng mga pagbaha sa lugar, ika-11 ng Setyembre.

“Marami po ang missing, marami po ang namatay, nakikidalamhati tayo sa ating mga kaibigan from Libya, ganoon pa man ay walang Filipino included sa casualties at missing accounted for ayon sa mga Filipino community leaders.” —Usec. Vega

Katunayan ayon kay Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega, ang nasa 90 Filipino nurses sa Derna kung saan mismo tumama ang bagyo ay tumutulong pa sa relief efforts sa lugar.

Sa briefing ng Laging Handa, sinabi ng opisyal na ang mga Pilipino sa Libya ay tumutulong rin at nag-aambag, upang bigyan ng tulong ang mga kababayan natin doon.

Sininiguro ng opisyal, na mananatiling nakabantay ang pamahalaan upang ibigay ang anumang pangangalangan ng mga ito.

“Hindi kailangan i-evacuate, nilipat sila to high ground ng mga Libyan employers nila at walang humingi ng repatriation. So, wala ring nasa shelter or—lahat eh may natutulugan— naninirahan sila sa bahay talaga or apartment. Ganunpaman, kung may Pilipino na kailangan ng assistance, financial assistance doon dahil nawalan ng trabaho or gusto nang umuwi ng Pilipinas, nandoon ang ating pamahalaan, nandiyan ang ating embahada para tulungan sila at kontakin lang nila.” —Usec Vega | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
