95 distressed OFWs mula Saudi Arabia, balik bansa na ngayong araw

Balik Pilipinas na ngayong araw ang 95 distressed OFWs mula Saudi Arabia matapos matagumpay na maayos ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang kanilang pag-uwi.

Sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng DMW’s Migrant Workers Office sa Riyadh (MWO-Riyadh) sa Philippine Embassy at sa mga awtoridad ng Saudi Arabia, napadali ang pagproseso ng exit visas at travel documents ng mga OFWs.

Bukod dito, binigyan din sila ng tig-US$200 bilang simulang suporta mula sa AKSYON Fund ng departamento. Kasama sa mga uuwing manggagawa ang tatlong bata at anim na wards na nasa pangangalaga ng MWO-Riyadh.

Nakatakdang lumapag mamayang 1:15 ng hapon ang eroplanong sinasakyan ng mga repatriated OFWs kung saan sasalubungin sila ng mga opisyal ng DMW at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) na tutulong sa kanilang immigration at customs procedures.

Makatatanggap din sila ng support package of benefits na kinabibilangan ng financial assistance mula sa DMW at Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), medical check-up at referral services, pati na rin psychosocial evaluation and assessment.

Magbibigay din ang OWWA ng transit services para sa mga OFWs papunta sa kanilang mga bahay sa Metro Manila o kalapit na probinsya pati na rin overnight hotel accommodations para sa mga may flight kinabukasan.

Ipinahayag ng DMW at OWWA ang kanilang pasasalamat sa Philippine Embassy at sa gobyerno ng Saudi Arabia sa kanilang pakikipagtulungan at suporta sa pag-uwi ng mga OFWs. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
