DBP, tatalima sa atas ng Pangulo na suspendihin muna ang pagpapatupad ng MIF

Tiniyak ng Development Bank of the Philippine ang pagtalima sa inilabas na memorandum ng Office of the Executive Secretary na suspensyon ng pagpapatupad ng Maharlika Investment Fund.

Sa inilabas na statement ng DBP, kinumpirma nito na sila’y nakatanggap ng kopya ng kalatas kung saan inaatasan ang Bureau of Treasury na suspendihin muna ang implementasyon ng IRR ng RA 11954.

Maalalang noong August 28, nag-isyu ang BTr ng IRR ng bagong batas kung saan nag-remit ang DBP ng P25 bilyon at P50 bilyon naman mula sa Landbank bilang kanilang share sa kauna-unahang wealth fund ng bansa.

Ang naturang pondo ay siyang pangangasiwaan ng Maharlika Investment Corporation kasama ang P50 bilyon na capitalization mula sa national government.

Nito lamang October 12 nang iniatas ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang suspensYon upang pag-aralan mabuti ang hangarin ng MIF para sa ikauunlad ng bansa at masiguro ang transparency at accountability ng sovereign wealth fund. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
