Tinatayang nasa 11 grupo ng mga negosyante sa bansa ang hindi sang-ayon sa panukalang itaas ang regulatory fees at charges ng Securities and Exchange Commission o SEC.
Kabilang dito ang Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc.; Employers Confederation of the Philippines; Management Association of the Philippines; Philippine Retailers Association; Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc.; Chamber of Thrift Banks; Franchise Association of the Philippines; Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors; Stratbase ADR Institute for Strategic and International Studies; at ang Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization Inc.
Tinawag ng mga ito na “money-making” na umano ang pagtaas ng regulatory fees.
Hinimok din ng grupo si SEC Chairperson at Chief Executive Emilio Aquino na isumite ang planong pagtaas ng regulatory fees sa Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) para sumailalim sa regulatory impact assessment.
Ayon sa grupo, kontra sa batas ng “Ease of Doing Business” ang hakbang na ito dahil malaki ang magiging epekto nito sa pagnenegosyo at ekonomiya.
Iminumungkahi ng SEC na singilin ang mga corporate issuer ng one fourth ng 1% ng kabuuang pagkakautang na ayon sa grupo kung ibabase sa datos ng 2022 ay aabot sa ₱1.27 bilyon ang sisingilin mula sa kabuuang bond na ₱508 bilyon para sa taon. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
