Aabot sa P12.8 bilyon na pondo ang paghahatian ng mga lokal na pamahalaan na may mining operation at energy development activities.
Ayon kay Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel, sa ilalim ng Local Government Code of 1991, mapupunta sa mga LGU ang 40% na kita mula sa pagmimina.
Maliban pa ito sa internal revenue allotment na ibinibigay ng national government sa lahat ng LGU.
Ito ay paghahatian ng host province (20%), host component city o host municipality (45%) at host barangay (35%).
Para naman sa mga highly urbanized o independent component city, ang makukuha nito ay 65% at 35% sa barangay.
“The P12.8 billion has been appropriated in the 2024 national budget that the House of Representatives recently approved on the third and final reading. The amount is 27 percent greater than the P10.1 billion that provincial, city, municipal and barangay governments are getting this year as their ‘national wealth use’ share,” sabi ni Pimentel.
Maaaring gastusin ang pondo sa mga lokal na development at livelihood projects.
Para naman sa LGU na mayroong pondo dahil sa extraction ng hydrothermal, geothermal at iba pang energy assets, kailangan ilaan ang 80% nito para mapababa ang singil sa kuryente sa mga komunidad kung saan ito kinuha.
