Int’l Finance Corporation ng Worldbank, pinuri ang public-private partnership framework ng Pilipinas

Pinuri ng International Finance Corporation (IFC) ang bago at mas pinahusay na policy framework ng  Pilipinas sa public-private partnership o PPP.

Ang IFC ay ang private sector investment arm ng World Bank.

Sa ginawang bilateral meeting ni Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno sa ginanap na 2023 Annual World Bank-International Monetary Fund, sinabi ni IFC Regional Vice President for Asia and the Pacific Riccardo Puliti,  ang inaprubahang PPP Code ay magdadala ng mas maraming domestic at international investment sa infrastructure.

Binigyang diin din ng IFC ang kanilang komitment na suportahan ang sustainable development ng bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagtulong na makahikayat ng mga mamumuhunan.

Sa kasalukuyan, katulong ng Pilipinas ang IFC sa ilang PPP projects  sa sector ng healthcare, broadband, at transportation.

Mula July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022, umaabot na ng $720-million US dollars ang mga proyekto nito sa Pilipinas.

Nagsisilbi rin itong advisor ng bansa sa mga major projects gaya ng Open Finance Advisory Services sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), University of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), Cancer Care Hospital PPP, National Broadband Plan (NBP), at transportation PPP investments in regional airports, metros, and bus systems.  | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
