Nasa P194 billion ang kabuuang realignment na inaprubahan ng small committee ng Kamara para sa 2024 General Appropriations bill.
Ayon kay Appropriations Committee Chair Elizaldy Co, ang naturang realignment ay para tugunan ang epekto ng inflation at tulungan ang mga Pilipino.
Ang P20 billion dito ay inilaan sa Rice Subsidy program ng Department of Agriculture (DA).
Habang P40 billion ay para sa National Irrigation Administration (NIA) para sa solar irrigation pumps at communal irrigation.
May P2 billion din ang Philippine Coconut Authority; P1.5-billion para sa bakuna kontra African Swine Fever (ASF); at P1 billion sa Philippine Fisheries Development Authority para magtayo ng fishery and post-harvest facilities, sa Palawan at Kalayaan Group of Islands.
Bilang suporta sa iba pang social services, pinaglalaanan din ng dagdag na P43.9 billion ang Department of Health (DOH) para sa Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP); legacy and specialty hospitals; cancer assistance; communicable diseases program; at health facility enhancement.
Mayroon ding hiwalay na P1 billion ang UP-PGH para sa MAIP.
Ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ay binigyan ng P35 billion para sa Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) at Sustainable Livelihood Program, habang may P17.5 billion naman ang TUPAD ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) pati Government Internship Program.
Aabot naman sa P10.4 billion ang na-realign para sa DOLE-TUPAD Training for Work Scholarship Program; at P17.1-billion para sa tertiary education subsidy program at Tulong Dunong Program sa ilalim ng CHED.
Target ng Kamara na tapusin ang printing ng final version ng 2024 GAB, at sa October 25 ay maisusumite na ito sa Senado. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
