Kandidato sa pagka-Barangay Chairman sa paparating na BSKE dinisqualify ng COMELEC

Kinansela na ngayon ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang kandidatura ng isang tumatakbong barangay chairman sa Bukidnon, sa resulta umano ng isang administratibong kaso nito.

Ayon sa COMELEC, tumatakbo para sa posisyon na Barangay Chairman ng Barangay Pualas, Don Carlos, Bukidnon si Ireneo Polinar Lapis na napatunayang guilty ng Ombudsman noong 2005.

Resulta ng hatol na ito, disqualified na si Lapis sa pagtakbo ng kahit anong elective public office sang-ayon na rin sa Seksyon 40(b) ng Local Government Code of 1991.

Ang resolusyon ay inilabas, dalawang linggo bago ang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE 2023) na nakatakda sa Oktubre 30, 2023.

Si Lapis ay isa sa ilang mga kandidato na kinansela o hindi tinanggap ang Certificate of Candidacy (COCs) ng COMELEC dahil sa samu’t saring mga dahilan. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
