Karagdagang budget allocation para sa monthly pension ng mahihirap na senior citizens, welcome sa National Commission on Senior Citizen

Welcome sa National Commission on Senior Citizen (NCSC) ang mataas na budget na ipinagkaloob ng gobyerno para sa mga indigent senior citizen pension.

Sa ilalim ng 2024 National Expenditure Program, itinaas sa P49.8 billion ang inilaan para sa pension ng mga mahihirap na senior.

Ayon kay Atty. Franklin Quijano, Chair at CEO ng NCSC, nagpapasalamat sila sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na naglaan ng halos dobleng budget, upang matanggap na ng seniors ang P1,000 monthly pension.

Ang budget increase ay para sa karagdagang P500 na monthly allowance mula sa P500 na kasalukuyang natatanggap ng mahigit apat na milyong senior citizen, na walang tinatanggap na pension mula sa pribado at gobyerno.

Sa ngayon ang DSWD ang siyang nangangasiwa sa pamamahagi ng social pension ng mga indigent senior citizen, pero pagkatapos ng tatlong taon ililipat na sa NCSC ang pangangasiwa ng distribution ng pension. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz-Reyes
