OFW lounge sa NAIA Terminal 1 at 3, target buksan sa Disyembre

Posibleng maging operational na sa Disyembre ang itatayong OFW lounge sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at 3.

Ito ang sinabi ng Manila International Airport Authority kay OFW partylist Rep. Marissa Magsino kasabay ng ginawang ocular inspection sa lugar kung saan itatayo ang lounge.

Ang sukat ng OFW lounge na itatayo sa Terminal 1 ay 180 square meters, habang 270 square meters naman ang sa Terminal 3.

“Sinabihan tayo recently ng DOTr na mayroon na silang proposed OFW lounge sa NAIA 1 kaya’t ating binisita ito upang makita kung maganda ba ang espasyong inilaan tulad ng ating iminumungkahi. Nais natin makita kung accessible at komportable ang lugar. Dapat pang-VIP ang dating ng lounge dahil tinaguriang modern-day heroes ang ating OFWs.” pagbabahagi ni Magsino.

Titiyakin na ang naturang lounge ay may Wi-Fi connectivity, battery charging docks at power outlets, paging system, at refreshments na sasagutin ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Maliban naman dito, inaasahan din ang pagtatalaga ng “Bida Kalusugan: OFW Health Desk for OFWs” sa mga international airport.

Ito ay sa pagtutulungan ng Department of Health, DMW at OFW party-list.

Sa naturang health desk, bibigyang access ang mga OFW sa basic health check up, healthcare information, assistance, at medical services at iuugnay sa kasalukuyang Inter-Agency on Medical Repatriation Program (IMRAP).

“Our OFWs deserve all the support and recognition for their hard work and dedication to our country. They deserve a red-carpet treatment as they depart from and arrive in the country. The OFW lounge and Health Desk in our international airports dedicated to our modern-day heroes are in alignment with this idea.
