Hindi aatras ang Pilipinas sa gitna ng panggigipit na ginagawa ng China.
Ito ang inihayag ni Occidental Mindoro Lone Rep. Leody Tarriela kasunod ng pinakabagong insidente ng pambabangga ng Chinese Coast Guard sa barko ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon kay Tarriela, paninindigan ng Pilipinas ang pagdepensa sa ating territorial integrity at soberanya.
Punto pa nito, ang hakbang ng Kamara para dagdagan ang pondo ng security agencies ay malinaw na mensahe na hindi magpapa-bully ang Pilipinas.
“Our government must stand firm and do whatever it takes to protect our interests. The House’s reallocation of funds to support our security agencies is a clear message that we will not be bullied or coerced,” diin ni Tarriela.
Aniya, tama lang ang ginawang reprioritization ng Kamara sa confidential fund ng civilian agencies at ilaan ito sa mga ahensya na ang mandato ay national defense para mapalakas ang kanilang kapasidad.
“In these challenging times, we must prioritize the security and well-being of our citizens and assert our rights in the West Philippine Sea. The House of Representatives has indeed done the right thing by reallocating these funds to enhance our nation’s defense capabilities,” dagdag nito.
