PNP, muling nagpaalala hinggil sa pagpapatupad ng “money ban” kaugnay ng BSKE

Muling pinaalalahanan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang mga kandidato at mga tagasuporta nito maging ang mga botante hinggil sa pinaigting na kampanya kontra vote buying para sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.

Partikular na ayon kay PNP Public Information Office Chief, Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, ay ang pagpapatupad ng “money ban” para sa mga kandidato gayundin sa mga tagasuporta nito, limang araw bago ang mismong halalan.

Sa ilalim kasi ng money ban, isasailalim sa masusing tanungan ang sinumang motorista na daraan sa mga checkpoint o indibidwal na makikitaang may bitbit na perang hindi bababa sa ₱500,000 pataas.

Ayon kay Fajardo, hindi naman pagbabawalan ang sinuman na magbitbit ng ₱500,000 cash lalo’t kung lehitimo naman ang paggagamitan nito.

Bagaman paiiralin ang ‘plain view doctrine’ sa mga checkpoint pero sakaling makitaan nito ay kailangan lamang magpakita ng mga katibayan na ito’y gagamitin sa lehitimong transaksyon at hindi para sa pamimili ng boto.

Una rito, kumikilos na rin ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) at Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) upang maging katuwang ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) para bantayan naman ang transaksyon ng mga kandidato online.  | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
