Sen. Robin Padilla, ipinapanukalang mabigyan ng digital access ang mga Pilipinong Muslim sa Sharia Courts

Naghain si Senador Robin Padilla ng isang panukalang batas na layong bigyan ng digital access ang mga Muslim Filipino sa Sharia courts.

Sa ilalim ng Senate Bill 2462, ipinapanukala ni Padilla na maamyendahan ang ilang probisyon ng Republic Act 9997 o ang National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Act para maging mas accessible sa mga Pilipinong Muslim ang Shariah courts sa buong bansa.

Paliwanag ng senador, isinusulong niya ito para matulungan ang mga Pilipinong Muslim na nahihirapan sa pagkamit ng serbisyo sa Sharia court dahil sa kakulangan ng pondo at kaalaman sa pagsumite ng dokumento.

Isa rin aniyang hamon ang kakulangan ng mga Sharia court sa labas ng Mindanao.

Sakaling maisabatas, aatasan ang National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) at ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) na makipagtulungan sa Korte Suprema na magtatag ng digital platform para sa paperless filing ng mga dokumento gaya ng Birth, Marriage, at Death Certificates.

Isinusulong rin nito ang pangongolekta ng statistical data para sa mga Muslim Filipino sa national, regional, provincial, city, at municipal levels.

Tutulungan din ng NCMF ang pagsumite ng ligal na dokumento sa mga kasong ihinain ng mga Muslim Filipino sa Sharia court. | ulat ni Nimfa Mae Asuncion
