Nakiisa si House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa mga nagpahayag ng pagkondena sa ginawang pag-atake sa Israel kung saan marami sa mga bikita ay sibilyan.
Ayon sa House leader, ang karahasan ay lalo lamang magdudulot ng gulo.
Nanawagan din ito sa lahat ng partido lalo na ang lider ng Hamas na idaan sa payapang pag-uusap ang pag-resolba sa sigalot.
Tulad ng iba pang lider sa ibang bansa naniniwala si Romualdez na respeto at proteksyon sa karapatan ng mga sibilyan salig sa international law ang dapat unahin.
“Today, I join voices from around the world in strongly condemning the heartbreaking attacks against innocent civilians in Israel. The devastation and loss suffered by families during such significant moments of reverence are beyond words…I align myself with the sentiments of global leaders and advocates for peace, emphasizing that dialogue and understanding are paramount. True change can only be achieved when we respect and protect the rights of civilians, as stipulated under international law.” sabi ng House Speaker.
Siniguro naman ni Romualdez sa mga kababayan nating Pilipino sa Israel na kumikilos na ang ating pamahalaan upang masiguro ang kanilang kaligtasan.
“To our Filipino brothers and sisters living or working in Israel, my thoughts are with you. The Departments of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Migrant Workers (DMW), and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) are now working overtime to ensure your safety and well-being. Please remain vigilant and prioritize your safety during these turbulent times. Your welfare is a matter of paramount importance to us.” dagdag ni Romualdez.
